The Food Fund was founded on the premise that tzedakah
does not mean charity. It means justice.
Poverty is not a crime, and the poor are no less entitled to shop for food with dignity and pride than those who are well off. Indeed, not all who are hungry look impoverished. Often families who had known only success suddenly find themselves in dire straits. They maintain a brave facade even as they go hungry before the eyes of unsuspecting neighbors and friends.
The Food Fund discreetly identifies members of the community who are in need and even more discreetly provides them with bona fide credit cards that enable them to
shop without shame at all supermarkets,
& fruit/ vegetable
